Abhishek leads the overall engagement at the SAPA Centre, where he focuses on advancing the adoption of the Sports Ecosystem Stack, with a particular emphasis on strengthening India’s SAPA ecosystem through applied research, policy advisory, and measurement frameworks.

Prior to his current role, Abhishek served non-profits, institutions, and governments at the intersection of systems change and social impact. Over the course of his work, he has supported and advised apex leadership teams on strategy, governance, and large-scale programme implementation across school education, higher education, and sports. He has also served as a member of a state-level working committee on digital interventions.

A member of an early cohort of the Teach For India Fellowship in Delhi, Abhishek holds postgraduate qualifications in both Law and Governance. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys participating in road and trail races, including 10K and half-marathon events.

Dr. Aishwarya Ramachandran leads research at the SAPA Centre, where she oversees the Centre’s research and knowledge initiatives to strengthen sports and physical activity systems in India.

Dr. Ramachandran holds a PhD in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She has worked across the sports sector in Canada and India for nearly a decade, with expertise spanning high-performance sport and sports for development. Her work focuses on bringing research rigour to these areas, and she is particularly interested in designing policy for sports and physical activity across diverse national and subnational contexts.

Anubhav works across research, policy and strategic initiatives at the SAPA Centre, supporting collaborations that strengthen sports and physical activity across diverse contexts.

He has previously worked as a Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellow. During his time at a political think tank, he contributed to legislative and policy outreach, coordinating with MPs and civil society experts.
He holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School in Berlin, where he gained experience in sport for development, through initiatives to prevent violence among immigrant youth, and the Special Olympics World Games. He also holds a B.A., LL.B (Hons) from NALSAR University of Law. In his spare time, Anubhav is an avid chess player and quizzer.

Sugandha supports the work of the SAPA Centre across research, policy and communications, contributing to the development of surveys and frameworks that can help translate research into practice.

She holds a Master’s degree in Education and Globalisation from the University of Oulu, Finland, where she also worked with grassroots organisations supporting community-based sports and education initiatives, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Miranda House, University of Delhi. Her interests lie at the intersection of sport, education, and society, with a particular focus on understanding how lived experiences and diverse perspectives can strengthen research and inform policy and practice. Sugandha has competed in football at the national level and athletics at the state level.
